Char Siu Pork / Barbecued Pork 叉烧肉

Ingredients:
Pork butt / pork loin 500g
Garlic 5 cloves
1tbsp dark soy sauce
4tbsp char siu sauce
1tsp Cooking wine
1tsp Honey

Methods:

  1. Soak the pork in the water for about 1.5 – 2 hours to clear the blood. Wipe and dry the pork. Cut it into big cubes.
  2. Chop garlic into tiny pieces (or use garlic paste), then put dark soy sauce, char siu sauce, cooking wine and honey into a bowl and mix them well
  3. Marinate the pork with the mixture above.
  4. Put in a sealed container for 2-3 days (at least 24 hours) and put it into the fridge.
  5. Put into oven, 200 degree for 30 – 45 minutes.

Char Siu Sauce

Instead of putting it into a sealed container, I put it in a sealed bag. I gave it a 'massage' in between the three days. It will be easier to do it in a sealed bag.

I used the butcher hook and hang it in the oven. (Before)
